Anyone visiting the recreation ground recently will have seen the flurry of activity being undertaken by builders, plumbers, electricians and painters working on the Village Hall redevelopment which is now close to completion.
All of the above achieved with the benefit of grants of some £87,000 from local and national grant providers and fund raising locally by village clubs and associations taking the project to close to £100,000.
You would think with all this fundraising we should have finished the project but sadly that isn’t the case. As part of the redevelopment, we’ve had to invest heavily in the insulation to make the new energy system efficient and effectively rewire and relight the whole building.
When you visit us you’ll see we still need to sand, oil and polish the flooring in both halls, make good and redecorate the lobby, kitchen and toilets and address the soft furnishings. Plus we believe it prudent to build back our cash reserves.
We are looking to raise a further £10,000 to achieve these ends and are launching a Buy-A-Brick scheme to help complete this development
The best way to support Cowden Village Hall Buy A Brick Scheme is to buy a brick to raise funds to complete our development project.
It’s a way to leave a legacy in the village and help us improve this valuable village asset. Each brick bought can be personalized with a name or message of your choice.
It’s a forever-seen symbol of support for, and pride in, the village hall.
There are 3 brick sizes to choose from. Bricks can be paid for outright, or paid in installments.
And the good news is that we get to collect gift aid on every brick bought if you are a UK personal taxpayer (please tick the box).
If you are a corporate or business, large bricks with the company logo are available.
As well as buying your own brick, please spread the word to friends, family, and businesses that you know. It could make a great present for the kids or that person that is hard to buy for as well as a permanent advertisement for your company.
Sizes
We are offering three sizes of brick small, medium and large. Minimum purchase values are indicated below, and we’ll readily welcome greater contributions for that sized brick.
Small 215mm x 65mm: up to two lines of text – £100.
Medium 215mm x 150mm: up to four lines of text – £200.
Large 215mm x 215mm: up to six lines of text – £300.
Corporate Large brick 215mm x 215mm – £1,000.
